Microsoft expands Copilot Cowork with mobile apps and new integrations
Microsoft announced the expansion of its Copilot Cowork feature with mobile applications for iOS and Android devices, along with new integration capabilities and reusable skills functionality.
The company introduced Copilot Cowork through its Frontier program to enable task delegation and execution beyond chat-based interactions. The feature operates on Work IQ, Microsoft's intelligence layer that processes organizational data and tools.
The mobile applications allow users to delegate tasks while away from their desks, with work continuing in the cloud regardless of device status. Users can assign tasks during commutes or between meetings and return to completed outcomes.
Microsoft is introducing built-in skills across Microsoft 365 for document creation, meeting coordination, and research workflows. Users can create custom skills to standardize team processes and automate recurring work. These skills function as reusable instruction sets that guide Cowork through specific tasks or workflows.
New integrations include native connections across Microsoft products, including Fabric IQ with Power BI for data workflow integration. The company is expanding Dynamics 365 integrations across sales, customer service, and enterprise resource planning applications for pipeline reviews, case resolution, and order approvals.
Third-party connectors will be released for LSEG, Miro, monday.com, and S&P Global Energy in the coming weeks. Organizations can build custom plugins to extend Cowork to their specific systems and processes.
Copilot Cowork remains available through Microsoft's Frontier program, with new capabilities being released continuously. The feature builds on the company's existing Microsoft 365 Copilot platform.
