Dorian LPG appoints Christopher Wiernicki as new board director

Dorian LPG Ltd. (NYSE: LPG) appointed Christopher J. Wiernicki as a Class I director, effective immediately, according to a company statement. The board unanimously approved the appointment and expanded from eight to nine directors.

Wiernicki, 67, brings 40 years of marine and offshore experience to the liquefied petroleum gas shipping company. He served as chairman and chief executive officer of the American Bureau of Shipping from 2011 through 2025, following roles as president and chief operating officer at the maritime classification society.

The new director holds engineering degrees from Vanderbilt University, George Washington University, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He completed Harvard University's Advanced Management Program and currently serves as a Professor of the Practice at MIT.

Wiernicki was appointed to the White House National Infrastructure Advisory Council in 2022 and serves as an advisor to Singapore's Ministry of Transport and Port Authority. He is a member of the US Marine Transportation Board and the US National Academy of Engineering.

"Dorian has enjoyed a strong working relationship with Chris for more than 15 years," said John C. Hadjipateras, president and chief executive officer of Dorian LPG. "As a member of our Board of Directors, Dorian will benefit from Chris' extensive shipping experience and expertise in strategic planning and design, clean energy and technology skills."

Dorian LPG operates a fleet of 28 modern very large gas carriers, including six dual-fuel ECO VLGCs, 20 ECO VLGCs, and two standard VLGCs. The company transports liquefied petroleum gas globally and maintains offices in Connecticut, Denmark, and Greece.
