ServiceNow expands AI control tower with enterprise-wide governance tools

May 5, 2026 12:59 PM

ServiceNow (NYSE: NOW) announced expanded capabilities for its AI Control Tower at its Knowledge 2026 conference in Las Vegas. The platform now provides discovery, observation, governance, security, and measurement tools for AI systems across enterprise environments.

The enhanced AI Control Tower includes 30 new enterprise integrations with cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, plus enterprise applications such as SAP, Oracle, and Workday. The system extends monitoring to non-human identities and connected devices, incorporating operational technology and Internet of Things assets.

New observability features stem from ServiceNow's acquisition of Traceloop, providing runtime visibility into AI agent behavior and decision-making processes. The platform offers five risk frameworks aligned with NIST and EU AI Act standards for compliance controls.

Security enhancements integrate with Veza to extend identity access governance to hyperscaler AI environments. The system can detect when agents operate beyond permissions and shut them down in real time. Cost tracking and return on investment dashboards address model spending concerns as AI deployments scale.

The company introduced AI Agent Advisor, which analyzes operational data to identify automation opportunities, and AI-powered setup capabilities that handle plugin installation and system configuration autonomously. An AI Gateway provides real-time controls for Model Context Protocol transactions.

New voice and natural language capabilities include Dynamic Guidance for real-time help, Screen Summarization for complex interfaces, and SmartDocs for mobile content consumption. Voice AI partnerships include Amazon Connect, NiCE, Five9, 3CLogic, and Twilio.

Jon Sigler, executive vice president and general manager of AI Platform at ServiceNow, stated the platform delivers "unified governance across the entire enterprise AI stack, so security and control move at the speed of the business."

Features begin rolling out in April 2026, with AI Agent Advisor and Intelligent Approvals available in May 2026. AI Control Tower enhancements enter Innovation Lab in May with general availability expected in August 2026.
