8x8 launches AI development tools and integration capabilities

8x8 Inc. (NASDAQ: EGHT) announced updates to its customer experience platform addressing operational challenges in AI deployment, analytics, authentication, and system integration.

The company released 8x8 AI Studio in early availability, allowing teams to build and deploy voice and digital AI agents using plain language descriptions without additional infrastructure. The tool operates on existing channels within the 8x8 Platform for CX.

The 8x8 Integration SDK became generally available, enabling partners and customers to build custom CRM integrations for platforms not natively supported, including industry-specific and proprietary systems.

New analytics dashboards in 8x8 Work Analytics provide real-time visibility into call queues, call quality, unreturned calls, and device health. The company also introduced Focus Time Metrics to track how agents distribute attention across simultaneous digital interactions.

8x8 Engage reached general availability for frontline and expert teams, bringing queue visibility and workflow structure to field teams, back-office specialists, and branch staff.

The platform now includes Silent Mobile Authentication, which verifies users through carrier network intelligence using GSMA Open Gateway technology, eliminating the need for one-time passcodes.

"These updates didn't come from a roadmap exercise – every capability that we introduce exists because a customer hit a wall," said Hunter Middleton, Chief Product Officer at 8x8.

The updates are available within the existing 8x8 Platform for CX without requiring new vendor relationships or infrastructure changes, according to the company's press release.
