May 5, 2026 8:20 AM

MDA Space Ltd. (NYSE: MDA) announced it has secured nine contracts and 32 letters of interest from customers for its MDA CHORUS Earth observation constellation, according to a company statement made at the GEOINT Symposium.

The commitments come from customers across Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Europe, North America and the Middle East. The satellite constellation is expected to launch in late 2026.

The contracts and letters of interest cover applications including maritime domain awareness, defense and security, mining, oil and gas, energy utilization and forestry management, the company stated.

"The number of early commitments to MDA CHORUS is a reflection of the trust customers have in MDA Space Earth observation products and the unique capabilities our next-generation constellation will bring to market," said Mike Greenley, CEO of MDA Space.

MDA CHORUS will provide radar imaging capabilities designed to operate day or night and in all weather conditions. The system will offer imaging coverage ranging from broad area coverage with a 700-kilometer-wide swath to sub-meter high-resolution spotlight images.

The Toronto-based company operates in the satellite systems and geointelligence sector, serving defense and commercial markets. MDA Space has more than 4,000 employees and reports over 450 missions in its operational history.

The announcement was made as the company continues customer engagement across civil, defense and commercial markets ahead of the constellation's planned launch.
