IBM and Oracle expand partnership with new AI and hybrid cloud tools
IBM and Oracle announced an expansion of their 40-year partnership to deliver new artificial intelligence and hybrid cloud capabilities for enterprise customers. The companies plan to release several integrated solutions later in 2026.
Organizations will be able to directly purchase and use Red Hat Enterprise Linux within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, moving beyond the current Bring Your Own Subscription model. Red Hat solutions will also become available through the Oracle Marketplace, allowing customers to use Oracle Universal Credits for purchases.
The partnership includes development of a connector between Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning and IBM's Maximo Application Suite to help customers manage processes across finance, procurement, assets and facilities. IBM's Envizi environmental, social and governance reporting service will be offered as a software-as-a-service option on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, with the initial launch planned for Saudi Arabia.
IBM will extend its Turbonomic resource optimization software to Oracle Cloud environments and expand Guardium data security support to include Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure. These capabilities are expected to be available later this year.
IBM Consulting is introducing a managed service offering for Maximo on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, allowing organizations to run the asset management software on the same cloud platform as Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP. The consulting division will handle infrastructure setup, application deployment and ongoing management.
The companies also launched AI agents for learning, development and talent acquisition that integrate with Oracle Fusion Applications. IBM's Txture modernization intelligence service will help organizations determine which workloads to prioritize for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure migration.
The announcement builds on IBM's recent acquisitions of Accelalpha and Applications Software Technologies, which expanded the company's enterprise resource planning and supply chain expertise.
