Ducommun appoints former Northrop Grumman executive to board
Ducommun Incorporated (NYSE: DCO) appointed Mark A. Caylor as an independent director to its board of directors, effective May 4, 2026, according to a company statement.
Caylor retired in 2024 as Corporate Vice President and President of Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems Sector after more than 20 years with the defense contractor. He previously served as President, Enterprise Services and Chief Strategy Officer at Northrop Grumman, overseeing corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and shared services functions.
The aerospace and defense executive brings over 35 years of industry experience to Ducommun's board. He currently serves as a director on the board of LightPath Technologies, Inc., a position he has held since October 2025.
Caylor holds bachelor's and master's degrees in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from MIT and Caltech, respectively, and an MBA from UCLA's Anderson School of Management. He began his career in 1988 at Hughes Aircraft Company, which Boeing later acquired.
Stephen G. Oswald, Ducommun's chairman, president and chief executive officer, said Caylor's expertise supports the company's VISION 2027 Strategy execution and organic and acquisition growth efforts.
The appointment represents the sixth new director addition to Ducommun's board over the past five years as part of the company's board refreshment program. The Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee conducted the search with assistance from an independent search firm, evaluating over 50 prospects over several months.
Ducommun supplies engineered products and manufacturing solutions to aerospace, defense and industrial markets. The company, founded in 1849, operates through two segments: Electronic Systems and Structural Systems.
