Sonos appoints Walmart executive Frank Barbieri as COO

Sonos Inc. (NASDAQ: SONO) appointed Frank Barbieri as Chief Operating Officer and principal operating officer, effective May 4, 2026, according to a company statement.

Barbieri, 58, spent seven years at Walmart Inc. in various roles from April 2019 to April 2026. He most recently served as Vice President of Content & Digital, overseeing the retailer's omni-channel consumer content, media, and gaming operations across stores and e-commerce platforms. He also chaired Walmart's enterprise-wide Entertainment Council.

During his tenure at Walmart, Barbieri served as President of three direct-to-consumer brands owned by the company: Art.com, Hayneedle.com, and AllswellHome.com.

Prior to joining Walmart, Barbieri held executive positions at several technology companies. He served as Chief Strategy Officer at YuMe, Inc., founded Transpera, Inc., and worked as a Product Manager at Microsoft Corporation.

Barbieri holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Philosophy from Bates College.
