Syntec Optics quadruples space optics production in march

May 4, 2026 9:09 AM

Syntec Optics Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: OPTX) reported a four-fold increase in monthly production for its space optics line in March 2026 compared to the same month in the prior year, according to a company press release.

The Rochester, New York-based manufacturer shipped nearly 50 percent of its 2025 total sales volume of space products by the end of the first quarter, effectively doubling throughput. The company also began shipping an antenna stabilization mechanism in response to demand in the space economy.

"Our success in scaling production gives us the confidence to expand into new product lines for Low Earth Orbit satellites," said Dean Rudy, CFO of Syntec Optics.

The company scaled operations using what it described as a proprietary efficiency framework while advancing previously announced defense technologies. Syntec Optics manufactures custom optics and photonics components for various end markets including satellite communications, defense night-vision equipment, biomedical diagnostics, and data center applications.

Goldman Sachs projects the satellite market could grow from $15 billion to $108 billion by 2035, while Morgan Stanley forecasts the global space economy will reach $1 trillion by 2040. The investment banks note that nearly 30 percent of the world population still lacks internet services.

Syntec Optics has operated for over two decades and runs manufacturing facilities with integrated optics production processes. The company recently added product lines for Low Earth Orbit satellite optics and lightweight defense applications.
