Omnicom promotes Christine Gambino to CEO of Omni platform

May 4, 2026 9:01 AM

Omnicom Group Inc. (NYSE: OMC) announced Christine Gambino has been promoted to chief executive officer of its Omni platform, effective immediately. Gambino previously served as chief operating officer of Omni, overseeing operations for more than 1,000 product and technology leaders.

Gambino succeeds Duncan Painter, who is stepping down to pursue a senior executive opportunity in the United Kingdom. Painter had been leading the Omni platform development following Omnicom's acquisition of Interpublic Group.

Prior to her role at Omni, Gambino spent six years at Flywheel, where she led engineering, product, and data science teams. She previously held positions at Under Armour, UPS, and CasSevern.

Alex McCord, currently CEO of Flywheel, will assume leadership of Omnicom Commerce while continuing in his Flywheel role. McCord has 15 years of experience in the commerce industry.

"It's an honor to lead Omni at this pivotal moment when the platform is serving as a shared resource for the new Omnicom," Gambino stated. "Duncan has created an exceptional foundation, and I'm grateful for his partnership and leadership as we now accelerate adoption across the organization."

Painter commented on the leadership transition, noting Gambino's central role in launching the next generation of Omni following the Interpublic acquisition. He expressed confidence in both Gambino and McCord to advance Omnicom's capabilities.

Both Omni and Flywheel will continue operating as part of Omnicom's Integrated Media capabilities. The information is based on an Omnicom press release statement.
