Jaguar Health launches Neonorm Dog for canine digestive health
Jaguar Health, Inc. (NASDAQ: JAGX) announced the planned launch of Neonorm Dog, expanding its Neonorm product line to include companion animals. The plant-based, non-prescription product is designed to support normal stool formation, gut hydration, and bowel health in dogs.
The new product extends Jaguar's existing Neonorm franchise, which currently includes Neonorm Foal and Neonorm Calf for pre-weaned foals and calves. All Neonorm products contain a standardized botanical extract derived from the Croton lechleri tree and act locally in the gut.
"Dog owners are increasingly seeking products that are plant-based, non-antibiotic, and easy to incorporate into the management of digestive health," said Lisa Conte, Jaguar's founder, president, and CEO.
The San Francisco-based company focuses on gastrointestinal products for companion and production animals. Jaguar's prescription animal health product Canalevia-CA1 is conditionally approved by FDA for treating chemotherapy-induced diarrhea in dogs. The company recently reported statistically significant results from an effectiveness trial of crofelemer for the same indication.
Neonorm Dog will be available through select online and animal health retail channels as the company completes final packaging, labeling, and commercial launch preparations. The product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease and is not intended as a substitute for veterinary care.
Jaguar develops prescription medicines derived from rainforest plants for people and animals with gastrointestinal conditions. The company's family includes subsidiaries Napo Pharmaceuticals and Napo Therapeutics S.p.A., which focus on developing crofelemer powder for rare gastrointestinal disorders.
