Firefly unit SciTec wins Space Force missile defense contract
SciTec, a subsidiary of Firefly Aerospace (NASDAQ: FLY), received an Other Transaction Authority agreement from the U.S. Space Force Space Systems Command to support the Space-Based Interceptor program under the Golden Dome missile defense architecture.
The Space Force awarded 20 total OTA agreements worth up to $3.2 billion to 12 companies, including SciTec, to develop space-based missile defense interceptor systems. The program aims to demonstrate capability integrated into the Golden Dome architecture by 2028.
The Space-Based Interceptor program was established under the Department of War to create a missile defense system featuring next-generation space-based tracking and interceptors integrated with artificial intelligence technology.

SciTec, headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey, has supported the Department of War and Intelligence Community for more than 45 years. The company provides sensing, data fusion, and software solutions for missile defense, space domain awareness, and national security missions.
Firefly Aerospace, established in 2017, operates engineering, manufacturing, and test facilities in central Texas. The company provides launch vehicles, lunar landers, and orbital vehicles for missions from low Earth orbit to the Moon.
