Best Buy adds reward points to Plus and Total memberships
Best Buy Co. (NYSE: BBY) will begin offering reward points to its My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total members starting June 4, according to a company statement.
Plus and Total members will earn 1% back in rewards on eligible purchases. Members who use their My Best Buy Credit Card will receive 6% back in rewards by combining the 1% membership rewards with 5% back when using Standard Credit.
The reward points are being added alongside existing membership benefits. Plus membership costs $29.99 per year and includes free two-day shipping, exclusive member prices and deals, and an extended 60-day return window. Total membership costs $199.99 per year and includes all Plus benefits plus product protection plans, free computer and tablet services, 24/7 tech support, and 20% off repairs.
Best Buy stated that more than 80% of customers want to earn points on purchases when shopping at the retailer, citing company data from February 2026.
"Our customers have been clear about what they want from us: reward points, convenience and exclusive benefits," said Jennie Weber, chief marketing officer at Best Buy.
Members will be able to track reward points through a digital membership hub on BestBuy.com and the Best Buy app. The company also offers a free My Best Buy membership tier that includes free standard shipping but does not earn reward points.
Existing Plus and Total members will automatically begin earning rewards on eligible purchases starting June 4 without needing to take any action.
