Mayfair Gold names Drew Anwyll as new CEO, Campbell steps down

May 4, 2026 4:30 AM

Mayfair Gold Corp. (TSXV: MFG) (NYSE American: MINE) appointed Drew Anwyll, P.Eng., as chief executive officer, effective immediately. Anwyll previously served as the company's chief operating officer.

Nick Campbell, the current CEO, is stepping down and departing the company. The leadership change comes as Mayfair advances its Fenn-Gib Gold Project in Ontario's Timmins region toward production.

Anwyll brings over 30 years of experience in developing, constructing and operating large-scale gold assets across Canada and internationally. He previously held senior executive roles at Generation Mining Limited from 2020 to 2025, where he served as chief operating officer and led the technical and environmental strategy for the Marathon Palladium-Copper Project.

Prior to Generation Mining, Anwyll spent nearly a decade at Detour Gold Corporation from 2011 to 2018, holding positions including senior vice president of technical services and interim COO. He contributed to the construction and operational scale-up of the Detour Lake mine, which processed over 65,000 tonnes per day and was later acquired for C$4.9 billion.

At Mayfair, Anwyll spearheaded the 2026 Pre-Feasibility Study and commenced Front-End Engineering and Design for the Fenn-Gib Project. The study outlined development capital requirements of C$450 million and projected cumulative free cash flow of US$896 million over the first six years of production.

Darren McLean, chair of the board, stated that appointing Anwyll positions the company to execute its plan to build and operate the Fenn-Gib Gold Project. The company aims to start construction in 2028 with initial production targeted for 2030.

Anwyll holds bachelor's and master's degrees in mining engineering from McGill University and is a registered professional engineer in Ontario. Information in this report is based on a company press release.
