Dave & Buster's appoints Charles Protell to board, Atish Shah to step down
Dave & Buster's Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLAY) announced the appointment of Charles Protell to its Board of Directors and Audit Committee, effective April 27, 2026, according to a company statement.
Atish Shah notified the company on April 30, 2026, of his decision not to seek reelection to the board at the annual shareholders meeting scheduled for June 18, 2026. Shah currently serves as Chair of the Audit Committee and as a member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. He will continue in his director role until the annual meeting.
Protell currently serves as President and Chief Financial Officer of Golden Entertainment. He joined Golden Entertainment as Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Financial Officer in November 2016 and was promoted to President in August 2019. He serves on Golden's compliance committee and previously held the position of Treasurer.
Before joining Golden Entertainment, Protell worked as managing director at Macquarie Capital's investment banking group from May 2011. He co-founded REGAL Capital Advisors in January 2009 and served as managing director until Macquarie Capital acquired the firm in May 2011. Earlier in his career, he held investment banking positions at Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank and CIBC World Markets. Protell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia.
