Zealand Pharma proposes Camilla Sylvest for board election
Zealand Pharma A/S (NASDAQ: ZEAL) announced that its board of directors proposes to elect Camilla Sylvest as a new board member at an extraordinary general meeting scheduled for May 26, 2026.
Sylvest brings nearly three decades of experience from Novo Nordisk A/S, where she most recently served as Executive Vice President for Global Commercial Strategy, Corporate Communication and Sustainability. Her responsibilities included global commercial strategy, marketing, and major product launches for drugs in chronic weight management and diabetes areas.
She currently serves on the boards of Dutch argenx SE since 2022 and Swedish Getinge AB since 2026. She previously held board positions at Danish Crown A/S and served as vice-chair at World Diabetes Foundation.
"Her impressive tenure at Novo Nordisk, driving global commercial strategy, and her specific board-experience, including a remarkable growth journey at argenx, will be strategically vital as we enter the next phase of scaling Zealand Pharma into a generational biotech," said Martin Nicklasson, Chair of the Board of Directors.
The election remains subject to shareholder approval at the upcoming extraordinary general meeting. Zealand Pharma is a Copenhagen-based biotechnology company focused on medicines for obesity and metabolic health, with operations in Boston, Massachusetts.
The company has advanced more than ten drug candidates into clinical development over its 25-year history, with two products reaching market and three candidates in late-stage development.
