GoodRx offers Ozempic pill for diabetes patients starting at $149
GoodRx Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: GDRX) announced it will provide access to Novo Nordisk's oral semaglutide medication, marketed as the Ozempic pill, for eligible self-pay patients with type 2 diabetes.
The prescription savings platform said the oral diabetes treatment will be available for $149 per month for the 1.5mg dose, $199 per month for the 4mg dose, and $299 per month for the 9mg dose through its nationwide pharmacy network.
The announcement represents an expansion of GoodRx's existing relationship with Novo Nordisk across semaglutide medications. The oral formulation provides an alternative to the injectable version of Ozempic that has been available through GoodRx's platform.
"As Novo Nordisk brings the Ozempic pill to market, we're focused on helping patients access it with clear, transparent pricing," said Wendy Barnes, president and chief executive of GoodRx.
Ed Cinca, senior vice president of marketing and patient solutions at Novo Nordisk, said the partnership helps expand access to the company's medicines with transparent self-pay pricing.
The oral semaglutide medication adds to the treatment options available for healthcare providers treating patients with type 2 diabetes. GoodRx said the collaboration demonstrates its evolution from a pricing solution to a broader consumer access platform for pharmaceutical manufacturers.
GoodRx operates as a prescription savings platform used by nearly 25 million consumers and over one million healthcare professionals annually, according to the company.
