Powerus receives first U.S. Air Force order for Guardian-2 drone interceptor

April 30, 2026 12:01 PM

Powerus announced the U.S. Air Force has placed a limited procurement order for Guardian-2 Interceptor systems following a demonstration. The semi-autonomous counter-drone platform is designed to defeat hostile unmanned aerial threats.

The Guardian-2 Interceptor is positioned as a low-cost, high-speed system built for high-volume production. According to the company, the Air Force tested the Guardian to address capability gaps for small teams operating in austere environments against Group 1-3 small unmanned aerial systems.

"This is about saving American lives. Because our systems are built for the modern battlefield, we're seeing increased demand for our semi-autonomous Guardian-2 interceptors to defend critical infrastructure and save lives in the Middle East," said Brett Velicovich, Co-Founder of Powerus.

Powerus operates as Autonomous Power Corporation and describes itself as building drone infrastructure for defense and critical infrastructure. The company has announced a proposed merger with Aureus Greenway Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: AGH).

Under the merger terms, Powerus will merge with a newly formed AGH subsidiary, with the combined company expected to trade on NASDAQ under ticker symbol PUSA. The transaction received unanimous approval from both boards of directors and a majority of stockholders from each company.

The merger remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals and effectiveness of a Form S-4 registration statement. The companies expect the transaction to close in summer 2026.

The press release noted the order does not guarantee future orders, continuing customer relationships, or program-of-record status. Information is based on a company press release statement.
