Satellogic Inc. (NASDAQ: SATL) announced a $12 million agreement with an undisclosed sovereign defense customer to deliver an operational satellite from its Aleph-1 constellation. The transaction includes the transfer of satellite ownership and operations support.

The agreement covers the sale and complete transfer of ownership of the NewSat satellite to the customer, along with support to develop independent capabilities for satellite command and data processing for military and civilian applications. The transfer process will begin immediately and is expected to complete in early 2027, subject to contractual and regulatory milestones.

Upon completion, the satellite will be removed from Satellogic's operational fleet and incorporated into the customer's sovereign regulatory framework. The satellite is currently part of Satellogic's operational constellation and has been flight-proven.

"This agreement reflects the growing demand from sovereign nations for direct, independent access to space-based intelligence," said Jeff Kerridge, SVP of Global Sales at Satellogic. "Our customer recognized that an already operational satellite, backed by the proven reliability of our constellation, delivers capability that would otherwise take years and significantly more investment to build from scratch."

The transaction represents Satellogic's approach to government customers seeking sovereign Earth observation capabilities. The company's vertically integrated model spans satellite design, manufacturing, and operations.

Satellogic operates one of the larger high-resolution satellite constellations commercially available. The company states it can offer in-orbit delivery while maintaining capacity within its constellation for existing and new customers.
