AVAX One partners with BlueFlare for Alberta AI data center project

April 30, 2026 8:33 AM

AVAX One Technology Ltd. (NASDAQ: AVX) announced progress on its 10 MW AI and high-performance computing data center site in Alberta, engaging Calgary-based BlueFlare Energy Solutions Inc. as infrastructure development partner.

The Alberta site, first announced April 20, remains scheduled for client deployment readiness in Q1 2027. BlueFlare is currently selecting an Owner's Engineer representative for the project, which AVAX One describes as advancing the development from letter of intent stage into technical execution.

"Partnering with BlueFlare is what converts this from a land story into an infrastructure delivery story," said Jolie Kahn, Chief Executive Officer of AVAX One. "They bring the natural gas expertise, the field relationships, and the operational discipline to commission behind-the-meter power at the pace this market demands."

The company's model uses on-site natural gas power generation rather than grid connectivity. AVAX One stated this approach bypasses utility interconnection approval processes that can take 24 to 60 months for large commercial AI computing loads.

AVAX One reported it is evaluating additional Western Canada locations ranging from 5 MW to 50+ MW per site. The company stated it is in discussions with HPC operators, co-location providers, and institutional capital partners regarding site acquisition and development structures.

According to the company's preliminary Q1 2026 results, AVAX One held approximately $27 million in cash as of March 31, 2026. The company stated this provides operational runway of more than three years without liquidating digital asset holdings.

AVAX One operates Bitcoin mining facilities in Alberta and Ohio at approximately 300 PH/s hashrate and maintains Avalanche digital asset holdings through staking and ecosystem participation.
