RingCentral launches branded messaging and AI features for business communication

April 30, 2026 8:03 AM

RingCentral Inc. (NYSE: RNG) announced new business communication features including Rich Communication Services with branded messaging, AI-powered customer engagement tools, and Microsoft Teams integrations.

The company introduced branded messaging through RCS, allowing businesses to display verified company logos, names, and taglines in text messages sent to customers' native messaging apps. The service moves beyond standard SMS by enabling interactive messaging experiences without requiring recipients to download additional applications.

RingCentral expanded its AI Receptionist service to handle both SMS and call queues, providing automated responses to customer inquiries across voice and messaging channels. The AI system interprets customer intent and maintains context across different communication methods.

The company launched a Customer Engagement Bundle for Microsoft Teams that integrates voice, SMS, call routing, and AI insights within the Teams platform. The bundle includes shared SMS inbox functionality, call routing with wait time announcements, and post-call summaries.

RingCentral also introduced Operator Connect for Microsoft Teams, providing global calling capabilities across 46 countries directly within the Teams environment. The service includes centralized provisioning through Teams Admin Center.

The company expanded international SMS services to the UK and Australia, and added SMS notification support across 190 countries using alphanumeric sender IDs. RingCentral reports an average deliverability rate of 98% for international SMS messages.

Enterprise Branded Calling, launched previously, displays company names and logos on outbound calls to increase answer rates. The feature addresses declining callback rates as consumers become more hesitant to answer calls from unknown numbers.

Most announced features are currently available, while the company is accepting early adopter registrations for rich media support and Operator Connect for Microsoft Teams. International SMS for Australia is in controlled availability, with UK SMS availability planned.
