Uber adds hotel bookings to app through Expedia partnership

April 29, 2026 10:46 AM

Investing.com -- Uber Technologies Inc. announced Wednesday that it will add hotel bookings to its main app through a partnership with Expedia Group Inc., representing the ride-hail company's largest expansion into the travel sector.

The San Francisco-based company revealed the feature during its annual product event. Uber will integrate Expedia's hotel inventory into its app, beginning in the United States. Vacation rentals from Expedia's Vrbo brand will become available later in 2026.

Uber One members will earn 10% back in credits on hotel bookings, which can be used for future rides or delivery orders. The company said customers can save up to 20% on approximately 10,000 hotels.

As part of the agreement, Uber ride bookings will be added to the Expedia app in June, according to the travel company.

Chief Product Officer Sachin Kansal said hotel bookings represent a strategic expansion, noting the company already serves many travelers with rides to hotels and food delivery. About 15% of Uber's ride-hailing gross bookings involve trips to or from an airport. The company recorded more than 1.5 billion trips outside a rider's home city in 2025.
