April 29, 2026 7:07 AM

MindBio Therapeutics Corp. (CSE: MBIO; Frankfurt: WF6; OTCQB: MBQIF) filed patent applications for technology that uses artificial intelligence and voice analysis to detect drug and alcohol intoxication, according to a company statement.

The biotechnology company developed an AI model that analyzes voice patterns using over 50 million data points to identify intoxication from substances affecting the central nervous system. The technology is designed for use in regulated industries including mining, aviation, construction and law enforcement.

MindBio plans to deliver its Edge AI touchscreen kiosk solution for commercial testing in the mining and aviation industries by the end of the second quarter of 2026. The kiosks integrate hardware and software for voice-based intoxication detection.

"The digital health diagnostics market represents a significant opportunity for MindBio to leverage its Voice AI diagnostics technology with a first mover commercialization advantage in drug and alcohol intoxication detection," said CEO Justin Hanka.

The company's patent applications cover what it describes as discoveries related to physiological reactions to neurologically active substances that affect the central nervous system and speech patterns.

MindBio's technology aims to address challenges in high-volume testing environments where traditional drug and alcohol testing methods can be time-consuming and invasive. The voice-based approach is intended to provide testing capabilities at scale for various substances.

The Vancouver-based company focuses on commercializing AI prediction technologies for intoxication detection through voice analysis across enterprise environments.
