Ribbon Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: RBBN) announced that Rick Marmurek has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer, effective May 1, 2026. Marmurek currently serves as Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer at the communications technology company.

Marmurek will succeed John Townsend, who will leave Ribbon on April 30, 2026, to pursue another professional opportunity. The transition was announced in a company statement on April 28, 2026.

Bruce McClelland, President and CEO of Ribbon, said Marmurek has worked at the company for more than a decade and brings financial leadership experience and accounting expertise. McClelland noted that Marmurek has served as a visible leader within the organization and developed knowledge of the company's operations and markets.

Marmurek brings more than 35 years of financial experience, including over 15 years at Ribbon or its predecessor companies. He has served as Senior Vice President, Deputy CFO and Chief Accounting Officer since 2024, and previously held the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer since 2018.

Before joining Ribbon, Marmurek worked at Nokia for 10 years in tax-related roles. He began his career in public accounting with Coopers and Lybrand. Marmurek is a certified public accountant and holds an accounting degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.

Ribbon Communications provides voice communications software, IP routing, and optical networking solutions to service providers, enterprises, and defense sectors.
