Republic Airways names Matt Koscal as CEO effective June 15, 2026
Republic Airways Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: RJET) announced that its board of directors has appointed Matthew J. Koscal as president and chief executive officer, effective June 15, 2026. The appointment completes a succession plan previously disclosed in the company's December 2025 regulatory filing.
Koscal, who joined Republic Airways in 2014, currently serves as president and chief commercial officer. He will succeed David Grizzle, who will return to his role as non-executive chair of the board of directors on the same date.
Grizzle became CEO in July 2025 following the retirement of former CEO Bryan Bedford. During his tenure, Grizzle led the company through its merger with Mesa Air Group in November 2025, an all-stock transaction that the company states established Republic as one of the leading publicly traded regional airlines in the United States.
"Matt's leadership in key roles at Republic over the past 12 years has set the stage for today's announced appointment," Grizzle said in the company's statement. "He's earned the confidence of our workforce, our airline partners and our Board."
Koscal expressed gratitude for Grizzle's leadership during the merger and integration process. "David stepped into the CEO role at a critical time and guided Republic through a transformative merger, a return to the public markets, and the vital early stages of integration," Koscal said.
Republic Airways operates a fleet of 314 Embraer 170/175 aircraft and provides approximately 1,300 daily scheduled flights to about 125 cities in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. The company provides services under the American Eagle, Delta Connection and United Express brands and employs more than 8,400 aviation professionals.
The company confirmed it is maintaining its financial guidance provided during its February 2026 earnings announcement.
