CoreSite adds 100G ethernet virtual circuits to cloud platform

April 28, 2026 11:00 AM

CoreSite, an American Tower company (NYSE: AMT), announced it is expanding its Ethernet Virtual Circuits bandwidth options with the introduction of 100 gigabits per second connections on its Open Cloud Exchange platform.

The Open Cloud Exchange is CoreSite's software-defined interconnection service that connects markets and hybrid IT deployments. The higher bandwidth connections allow customers to access CoreSite's nationwide ecosystem at increased speeds and connect to cloud providers and partners more quickly.

Customers can activate services in minutes to establish direct paths to public cloud providers, network carriers and partner ecosystems over a private network. The enhanced bandwidth supports AI, machine learning, high-performance computing and real-time analytics workloads.

"The introduction of 100G EVCs allows our customers to access CoreSite's nationwide ecosystem on demand at the bandwidth level required to support today's workloads," said Matt Senderhauf, vice president of interconnection strategy at CoreSite.

CoreSite cited a government customer that used the 100G connectivity to interconnect deployments across its Silicon Valley, Northern Virginia and Orlando data center campuses. The customer bypassed multiple long-haul carrier circuits by establishing high-capacity, private connectivity across all three markets through the single platform.

The higher bandwidth connections are available across all CoreSite markets without long-term contracts. Customers can manage and scale network connections through a self-service interface without manual reconfiguring or infrastructure changes.

The information is based on a company press release statement.
