FTAI Infrastructure invests in TimberHP to expand wood fiber insulation
TimberHP, a manufacturer of wood fiber insulation based in Madison, Maine, announced it received a strategic investment from FTAI Infrastructure Inc. (NASDAQ: FIP). The investment will support production expansion at TimberHP's Madison facility and broaden its commercial presence across North America.
TimberHP produces wood fiber insulation using residual softwood chips, a byproduct of logging and lumber production. The company describes itself as the first U.S.-based manufacturer of this type of insulation material.
"This partnership with FTAI Infrastructure marks a pivotal moment for our company, enabling us to accelerate our growth and scale production to meet the rising demand for bio-based building materials," said Matthew O'Malia, CEO of TimberHP.
The company offers three product lines: TimberBatt, TimberFill and TimberBoard. TimberHP was founded in 2017 and has existing equity investors including BlackRock, the Finance Authority of Maine, and municipal bond investors.
FTAI Infrastructure focuses on investments in critical infrastructure across rail, ports and terminals, and power and gas sectors. The company is managed by an affiliate of Fortress Investment Group LLC.
The investment amount was not disclosed in the announcement made Monday.
