April 28, 2026 9:04 AM

T-Mobile US Inc. (NASDAQ: TMUS) announced two strategic fiber joint ventures that will expand the company's broadband footprint to more than 1 million additional homes nationwide.

The wireless carrier entered into definitive agreements for 50/50 partnerships with Oak Hill Capital and Wren House. The Oak Hill venture will combine GoNetspeed and Greenlight Networks to serve Northeastern markets, while the Wren House partnership will acquire i3 Broadband to expand Midwest coverage.

The Oak Hill joint venture will integrate GoNetspeed and Greenlight Networks, creating a combined platform expected to reach over 1.3 million households by the end of 2026. The companies currently operate across Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island.

The Wren House partnership will acquire i3 Broadband, a fiber-to-the-premises provider serving residential customers in Missouri, Illinois, and Rhode Island. This venture is expected to pass approximately 500,000 households by the end of 2026.

T-Mobile expects to invest approximately $2.0 billion for the Oak Hill transaction and $700 million for the Wren House deal. The Oak Hill transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027, while the Wren House deal is anticipated to close in the second half of 2026, both subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

"These partnerships are about expanding access to high-performance fiber for more customers," said André Almeida, Chief Broadband, Enterprise and Emerging Business Officer at T-Mobile. "We've built strong momentum in fiber, and these JVs allow us to scale faster by combining leading fiber operators with T-Mobile's brand, distribution and customer experience."

The transactions support T-Mobile's goal of serving 18 to 19 million total broadband customers by the end of 2030, including 3 to 4 million fiber customers. T-Mobile currently serves approximately 1 million customers with fiber services through wholesale partnerships and joint ventures established over the past two years.
