GitLab integrates Anthropic's Claude models into development platform
GitLab Inc. announced an integration with Anthropic's Claude artificial intelligence models, allowing customers to access Claude capabilities within GitLab's existing governance and compliance framework.
The integration enables enterprises to use Claude models, including the newly released Claude Opus 4.7, through GitLab's Duo Agent Platform via Google Cloud and AWS Bedrock. This allows organizations to route AI workloads through existing cloud vendor relationships while maintaining data residency requirements.
GitLab has joined the Claude Marketplace, permitting customers to apply existing Anthropic spending commitments toward GitLab credits. The integration embeds AI agents within GitLab's DevSecOps platform, providing security and compliance teams visibility over how AI agents access code, infrastructure, and pipeline context.
"GitLab Duo has accelerated how our teams plan, build, and ship software," said Mans Booijink, operations manager at Cube. "The combination of Claude models and GitLab's platform means we're getting more capable AI without changing how we work or how it is governed."
Sam Werboff, head of enterprise go-to-market at Anthropic, stated that the integration brings "Claude deeper into GitLab Duo Agent Platform means shared customers get more capable AI across the full software development lifecycle, with the compliance and audibility their teams already depend on."
The announcement details how AI agents within the platform can perform autonomous tasks across software planning, coding, testing, security, and deployment processes while maintaining oversight through GitLab's audit and policy systems.
