Lakewood-Amedex names Joseph Tucker to board following Nasdaq listing
Lakewood-Amedex Biotherapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: LABT) appointed Joseph Tucker as a director to its board, the company announced in a press release. Tucker serves as chief executive officer of Enveric Biosciences (NASDAQ: ENVB).
The appointment follows Lakewood-Amedex's recent direct listing on Nasdaq. The Sarasota, Florida-based company develops antimicrobial treatments for infectious diseases.
Tucker brings over two decades of biotechnology leadership experience across public and private companies. At Enveric Biosciences, he leads development of neuroplastogenic therapeutics for neuropsychiatric and neurological disorders. The company is advancing its lead program, EB-003, toward a first-in-human clinical trial.
Previously, Tucker held executive roles at Willow Biosciences and Stem Cell Therapeutics, leading companies through public listings, mergers and acquisitions. He has raised more than $100 million in capital throughout his career and executed multiple partnerships and licensing transactions.
"Joe brings a rare combination of public company leadership, capital markets expertise, and deep drug development experience," said Kelvin Cooper, chief executive officer of Lakewood-Amedex.
Lakewood-Amedex develops the Bisphosphocin class of antimicrobials designed to treat antibiotic-resistant bacterial strains including MRSA and VRE. The company's lead product Nu-3 targets mildly infected diabetic foot ulcers and is planned for Phase 2a safety and dose response studies.
"I am excited to join the Board of Lakewood-Amedex Biotherapeutics at such an important moment in the Company's evolution," Tucker stated.
