Cytokinetics announces nine presentations at heart failure conference
Cytokinetics, Incorporated (NASDAQ: CYTK) announced nine presentations scheduled for the European Society of Cardiology Heart Failure 2026 Congress in Barcelona, Spain, from May 9-12, 2026. Eight presentations will focus on MYQORZO (aficamten), including one late-breaking science oral presentation.
MYQORZO received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, European Commission, and China National Medical Products Administration for treating adults with symptomatic obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The drug functions as an allosteric and reversible inhibitor of cardiac myosin motor activity.
The late-breaking science presentation, titled "Dose-dependent effects of aficamten compared with metoprolol in obstructive HCM: the MAPLE-HCM study," is scheduled for May 11, 2026. Dr. Pablo Garcia-Pavia from Hospital Universitario Puerta de Hierro in Madrid, Spain, will present the findings.
Additional presentations will examine aficamten's effects on left atrial mechanics, gender-based treatment responses, and arrhythmia burden. The congress will also feature presentations on clinical and economic burden data for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy patients and pediatric disease distribution.
One presentation will address omecamtiv mecarbil, the company's investigational cardiac myosin activator for heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, focusing on QRS duration and resynchronization status effects from the GALACTIC-HF trial.
The presentations include rapid fire sessions, moderated posters, and electronic poster presentations covering various aspects of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy treatment and patient outcomes. Information is based on a company press release.
