GXO installs automated loading system for Grupa Żywiec in Poland

April 28, 2026 7:03 AM

GXO Logistics, Inc. (NYSE: GXO) has implemented an automated truck loading system for beer producer Grupa Żywiec at its facility in Elbląg, Poland. The company states this is the first Autoload system installation in Europe.

The Autoload system automates trailer loading and unloading processes, replacing traditional forklift operations. According to GXO, the technology reduces loading operation time to approximately two minutes by completing full trailer movement in a single cycle, compared to standard processes that require loading each pallet individually.

The system eliminates manual forklift operations at loading docks and provides mechanical precision to reduce human error risk. GXO reports the technology enables higher transport movement frequency using existing infrastructure.

"We are proud to introduce another joint innovation with Grupa Żywiec, our trusted partner for over seven years," said Jean-Luc Bessade, GXO's Managing Director for Central Europe. The company reports that nearly 50% of its Central Europe revenue comes from automated operations.

Michał Kalinowski, Contract Logistics Manager at Grupa Żywiec, stated that GXO helps the company "boost productivity, safety and sustainability, allowing us to focus our resources on what matters most – growing our core business."

The installation represents the latest development in a partnership spanning more than a decade between the two companies. GXO and Grupa Żywiec have previously implemented initiatives that resulted in reduced energy consumption and decreased glass usage through returns process improvements.

GXO describes itself as the world's largest pure-play contract logistics provider, operating over 1,000 facilities with more than 150,000 employees globally.
