Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. (NYSE: CLF) announced a three-year strategic partnership with Palantir Technologies to deploy artificial intelligence solutions across its steel manufacturing operations.

The agreement will integrate Palantir's AI platform into Cleveland-Cliffs' production planning, order entry, and operational workflows. The technology aims to help the company integrate data, anticipate constraints, and coordinate activities across its facilities in real time.

Cleveland-Cliffs completed pilot work with Palantir before signing the multi-year contract. The partnership focuses on embedding AI into key internal processes in operations and commercial activities across the company's manufacturing footprint.

"After completing our pilot work with Palantir, it became clear they were the platform of choice to take our business into the future," said Lourenco Goncalves, Cleveland-Cliffs' chairman, president, and CEO. "Integrated steelmaking is extraordinarily complex and Palantir's platform allows us to solve problems in ways humans simply cannot."

Cleveland-Cliffs operates as a vertically integrated steel producer focused on value-added sheet products, particularly for the automotive industry. The company's operations span from iron ore mining and pellet production through primary steelmaking and downstream finishing processes.

The Cleveland, Ohio-based company employs approximately 25,000 people across its operations in the United States and Canada. The partnership represents part of Cleveland-Cliffs' effort to modernize its systems across its manufacturing facilities.
