Supermicro opens 714,000 square foot Silicon Valley campus
Super Micro Computer Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI) announced the opening of a new 32.8-acre facility in San Jose, California, spanning more than 714,000 square feet. The campus represents the company's fourth Bay Area location and largest U.S. site.
The facility will support system design, manufacturing, testing, and service operations for the company's Data Center Building Block Solutions for AI infrastructure. Supermicro's regional footprint now totals nearly 4 million square feet across its Bay Area locations.
"This new DCBBS campus, which becomes our largest in the U.S., is a direct investment in American innovation and manufacturing leadership," said Charles Liang, president and CEO of Supermicro.
The company expects to create hundreds of jobs across engineering, manufacturing, and business functions at the new location. San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan said the expansion "adds more advanced manufacturing, testing, and distribution capacity in San Jose, strengthening our position at the center of the global AI economy."
The facility will manufacture complete modular AI infrastructure systems, from individual components to complete racks and site infrastructure. Supermicro designs and manufactures products in the U.S., Taiwan, and the Netherlands.
Based on information from a company press release, the new campus is positioned to serve hyperscale, cloud, and enterprise customers building AI infrastructure. The company has been expanding its domestic manufacturing capabilities to meet growing demand for AI data center equipment.
