NSK partners with Accenture on AI-driven business transformation
NSK Limited announced a strategic collaboration with Accenture (NYSE: ACN) to transform its business operations through artificial intelligence and digital technology. The partnership aims to optimize NSK's operations and expand investment capacity while developing employee capabilities.
The collaboration focuses on three main areas: structural cost transformation through automation and process optimization, continuous investment in competitive capabilities including new product development, and maximizing operational capability through AI-driven decision-making and workforce empowerment.
NSK will undertake operational overhauls with particular emphasis on back-office functions, progressively expanding automation and transparency across the organization. The company plans to reallocate resources toward growth-driving areas and strengthen competitiveness through these efficiency gains.
"Partnering with Accenture represents a bold step in NSK's evolution toward a management model that continuously drives structural reform and growth investment in tandem," said Akitoshi Ichii, president and CEO of NSK.
The initiative includes manufacturing operations enhancement through faster, data-driven decision-making and automation of high-burden tasks. Accenture will provide reskilling programs to help NSK employees adapt their skills alongside new technologies.
"This initiative harnesses AI and data to continuously drive structural reform and growth investment in tandem," said Dai Hamaoka, representative director and president of Accenture Japan.
NSK, established in 1916 as Japan's first bearing manufacturer, operates in approximately 30 countries and ranks third globally in bearings while leading in ball screws and electric power steering products. The announcement coincides with NSK's 110th anniversary year.
