Metropolitan Commercial Bank names Tina Laurie as HUD chief underwriter
Metropolitan Commercial Bank (NYSE: MCB) announced the appointment of Tina L. Laurie as HUD Chief Underwriter within its Lending division. Laurie will oversee credit analysis and underwriting processes for healthcare and multifamily loan originations targeted for HUD programs.
Laurie brings experience in HUD MAP and LEAN underwriting, having underwritten and closed more than 100 projects representing over 13,000 total units and beds in FHA-insured mortgages throughout her career, according to the bank's statement.
Prior to joining Metropolitan Commercial Bank, Laurie served as Executive Director and Chief Underwriter at PGIM Real Estate Agency Financing. Her previous roles include MAP/LEAN Co-Chief Underwriter at Housing & Healthcare Finance and Senior Managing Director, FHA Chief LEAN Underwriter at Barings Multifamily Capital.
"Her deep expertise in all areas of HUD lending, combined with her proven track record in complex healthcare underwriting, makes her an invaluable asset as we continue to expand our commercial banking solutions," said Scott Lublin, Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer at Metropolitan Commercial Bank.
Laurie currently serves on two industry boards: the Healthcare Mortgagee Advisory Council and Southeast Mortgagee Advisory Council. She stated that the bank's approach aligns with her vision for supporting clients in achieving their financial goals.
Metropolitan Commercial Bank operates banking centers in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Great Neck on Long Island, Lakewood, New Jersey, and Miami, with a West Palm Beach location planned to open in June 2026.
