Martin Marietta appoints Christopher Samborski as chief operating officer

Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. (NYSE: MLM) announced the appointment of Christopher W. Samborski as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, effective May 1, 2026.



Samborski most recently served as President of Martin Marietta's West and Specialties Divisions, where he oversaw operations and strategic direction of those business units. He joined Martin Marietta in 2018 and has held multiple leadership positions including Vice President of Strategic Finance, Procurement and Supply Chain.



Prior to joining Martin Marietta, Samborski spent approximately ten years in leadership roles at Caterpillar Inc. and Johnson & Johnson. He began his career at General Electric Company, completing GE's Operations Management Leadership Program.

Samborski stated he was honored to take on the new opportunity during what he described as a period of strong performance and growth for the business. He noted that Martin Marietta delivered record results across its portfolio in 2025.



With Samborski's appointment, Kirk Light has assumed leadership of the West and Specialties Divisions while retaining his duties as President of the Southwest Division.



Samborski holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA in Strategy and General Management from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business.



Martin Marietta is a supplier of aggregates and building materials with operations spanning 28 states, Canada and The Bahamas.
