CGI launches AI platform in Finland with security compliance

April 27, 2026 6:31 AM

CGI Inc. (NYSE: GIB) launched a high-security sovereign artificial intelligence platform in Finland designed for enterprise and public sector organizations requiring enhanced data protection and compliance standards.

The platform operates from a Finland-based data center that meets KATAKRI compliance standards, Finland's National Security Auditing Criteria for handling classified and sensitive workloads. The service enables organizations to develop and deploy AI applications while maintaining data sovereignty and control over their operations.

The platform supports multiple large language models and integrates with existing systems through an OpenAI-compatible API. CGI delivers the service from its high-security hybrid facility, which the company states is among the few data centers certified against Finland's KATAKRI security audit criteria.

"With CGI's local proximity model, we are uniquely positioned to partner with clients across industry sectors as they address evolving data protection, security, and sovereignty requirements," said Niraj Sood, President of Finland, Poland and Baltics operations at CGI.

The platform provides an alternative to public cloud solutions for organizations that require enhanced control over their AI deployments and data governance. CGI designed the service to offer cost efficiency and predictability for enterprise-scale implementations.

Jenni Mikkola, Senior Vice-President and Business Unit Leader for Global Technology Operations at CGI Finland, said the platform enables organizations to operate AI applications within CGI's Finnish data centers under client governance and control.

CGI reported revenue of CA$15.91 billion in fiscal 2025 and employs 94,000 consultants and professionals globally, according to the press release.
