April 27, 2026 5:07 AM

IFS, a provider of industrial AI software, appointed Ryan Courson as chief financial officer, the company announced. Courson joins IFS as the company reported 25% annual recurring revenue growth and a net retention rate of 114% in its first quarter 2026 financial results.

Courson previously served as chief operating officer and chief financial officer at Kaseya. He has held CFO positions at Cornerstone OnDemand and EagleView, and served as CFO of Atlas Corp. (NYSE: ATCO), a global asset manager. Earlier in his career, he worked as a technology and software investor at Alpha Wave Global, Teton Capital, and Berkshire Hathaway.

"IFS is executing at a level that very few software businesses in the world can match right now," said Mark Moffat, CEO of IFS. "Ryan has built and led financial organizations inside fast-growth AI companies, he understands markets and capital as a sophisticated investor, and he has operated at the level of a publicly listed company."

Courson holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis and serves as an adjunct professor at the university's Olin Business School, where he teaches investing.

The appointment follows the departure of outgoing CFO Matthias Heiden, who will leave IFS in the second quarter. Moffat acknowledged Heiden's contribution over the past three years in helping drive the company's growth.

"My focus is to support the next phase of growth by strengthening financial discipline, capital allocation, and operating rigor," Courson said in a statement.
