Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Atraverse Medical, Inc., a privately-held medical device company that develops left-heart access and radiofrequency technology.

Atraverse Medical manufactures the HOTWIRE™ Transseptal Access System, an FDA-cleared radiofrequency guidewire and generator system used for accessing the left atrium during atrial fibrillation procedures. The system has been used in nearly 3,000 clinical procedures and features impedance-sensing automatic energy shutoff, compatibility with multiple sheaths, and tip visibility under intracardiac echocardiography.

The acquisition is intended to expand Johnson & Johnson's cardiac ablation solutions portfolio, providing electrophysiologists with tools for treating patients with atrial fibrillation and other cardiac arrhythmias. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The information was provided in a company press release dated April 24, 2026.
