Adient launches ProForce Massage Flow solution for automotive seats
Adient (NYSE: ADNT) announced the commercialization of its ProForce Massage Flow solution, an expansion of its mechanical massage technology for automotive seating. The Plymouth, Michigan-based company said the new system is scheduled for production on two Chinese original equipment manufacturer models.
The Flow version incorporates moving modules designed to extend massage coverage to lower-back muscle groups. The system offers multiple massage techniques including kneading, tapping and rolling, which can be applied individually or in combination.
The solution features a platform-based, modular design with spring-mounted installation that supports integration across different seat frame platforms. It is available in two-head and four-head module configurations and supports both front and rear seats, including those with integrated anti-lock braking systems.
The technology builds on Adient's existing ProForce Focus solution, which has been deployed in multiple mass-production vehicles. The company states the mechanical system delivers higher force than pneumatic alternatives and includes a multi-stage collapsible safety mechanism that allows massage heads to retract during collisions and reset afterward.
Additional features include integration capabilities with lumbar support, ventilation and heating functions, along with wear-resistant upholstery materials. The system incorporates Adient's Magic Trim assembly technology designed to maintain surface appearance over time.
Adient operates approximately 200 manufacturing and assembly plants worldwide with more than 65,000 employees in 29 countries. The company produces automotive seating systems and components for major automotive manufacturers globally.
