Meta signs deal to deploy AWS Graviton processors for AI workloads

April 24, 2026 8:10 AM

Meta has signed an agreement with Amazon Web Services to deploy AWS Graviton processors at scale to support its artificial intelligence operations, according to a press release from Amazon.

The deployment will start with tens of millions of Graviton cores, with the potential for expansion as Meta's AI capabilities grow. The agreement makes Meta one of the largest Graviton customers globally.

The processors will power various AI workloads at Meta, including real-time reasoning, code generation, search functions, and orchestrating multi-step tasks. These operations require CPU-intensive processing to handle billions of interactions while coordinating complex agent workflows.

The deal builds on Meta's existing relationship with AWS and its use of Amazon Bedrock services. The Graviton5 processors are designed to handle the CPU-intensive workloads that support agentic AI applications, which differ from the GPU requirements typically needed for training large AI models.

Amazon Web Services markets Graviton as purpose-built for these types of workloads, providing processing power for companies running AI applications at scale.
