WeRide expands ADAS solution across multiple chip platforms

April 24, 2026 7:24 AM

WeRide Inc. (NASDAQ: WRD) announced its WeRide Driving 3.0 advanced driver assistance system now supports multiple computing platforms including NVIDIA DRIVE, Qualcomm Snapdragon, and SiEngine StarLight AD1000 chips.

The autonomous driving technology company signed a strategic partnership with SiEngine Technology at Auto China 2026 to integrate chip and algorithm technologies for L2++ ADAS deployment across different cost segments.

WeRide's WRD 3.0 has secured production design wins across nearly 30 vehicle models, including partnerships with GAC and Chery. The GAC Aion N60 launched pre-sales on April 16, marking WeRide's first mass-production deployment using Qualcomm Snapdragon platform technology.

The system achieves performance comparable to a 2,000 TOPS platform while operating on 200 TOPS of computing power, according to the company. SiEngine's StarLight AD1000 chip delivers 512 TOPS of neural processing unit performance on a single chip and up to 2,048 TOPS in multi-chip configurations.

"The large-scale adoption of L2++ ADAS depends on a unified software architecture and seamless collaboration across multiple chip platforms," said Dr. Tony Han, WeRide's founder and CEO.

Dr. Wang Kai, founder and CEO of SiEngine Technology, stated the partnership aims to drive China's intelligent driving ecosystem toward broader global adoption.

WeRide operates autonomous vehicles in over 40 cities across 12 countries and holds autonomous driving permits in eight markets including China, the UAE, Singapore, France, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, and the United States.
