NIQ and INTAGE HD form partnership for Japan retail measurement
NielsenIQ (NYSE: NIQ) and INTAGE HOLDINGS Inc. announced a mutual sales partnership to expand retail measurement insights between Japan and global markets.
The collaboration combines INTAGE HD's retail store panel data covering Japan's domestic market with NIQ's global retail measurement services spanning more than 100 countries and regions. Global clients will gain access to INTAGE HD's nationwide retail store panel data in Japan, including SRI+ and SRI+EC services, while Japanese clients will access NIQ's international retail measurement data.
"Clients today are increasingly looking for a more complete and connected understanding of consumer buying behavior across markets," said Chang Park, Managing Director of NIQ's Northeast Asia Cluster. "Our collaboration with INTAGE HD strengthens our ability to deliver The Full View—bringing together local depth and global scale to help clients unlock new opportunities and drive growth."
The partnership addresses comparability limitations between Japan and other markets by connecting local and global retail data. Companies expanding into Japan or growing internationally will access unified performance views across markets.
"Japan is a highly complex and unique market, and a deep understanding of the local market and a global perspective are both essential to realizing business growth," said Yoshiya Nishi, CEO of INTAGE HOLDINGS Inc. "Through this collaboration, we will combine the strengths of both companies to provide more consistent and actionable insights in the Japanese and global markets."
INTAGE Group, founded in 1960, operates Japan's largest consumer panel and retail panel data services. The company ranks as the top marketing research firm in Asia according to ESOMAR's Global Top-50 Insights Companies 2025. NIQ operates in more than 90 countries and covers approximately 82% of the world's population, tracking more than $7.4 trillion in global consumer spending.
