SES AI names Ray Liu as CFO, replacing Jing Nealis in April
SES AI Corporation (NYSE: SES) announced that Ray Liu will become chief financial officer effective April 27, 2026, replacing Jing Nealis who will step down from the role.
Nealis joined SES AI in 2021 and served as CFO during the company's transition to a public entity and establishment of three revenue-generating business units. She will complete the first quarter 2026 Form 10-Q filing and participate in the Q1 2026 earnings call before departing. The company stated she will remain available to support the transition.
Liu brings over 20 years of finance experience across financial planning, strategic finance, risk management and financial reporting. He most recently served as North America Chief Risk and Control Officer at Adyen, where he led enterprise risk and control framework implementation for the company's U.S. operations.
Prior to Adyen, Liu spent more than a decade at MetLife Investment Management in various roles including Director of Risk Management and Chief of Staff and Head of Finance for international investment operations. He previously held positions at MetLife as Director of Internal Audit, Emerson Electric Co. as Senior Auditor, and PwC in Shanghai as Senior Associate.
Liu holds an MBA in Finance and Investments from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. He is a CFA Charterholder and Certified Public Accountant licensed in New Jersey.
"We are pleased to welcome Ray to SES AI," said CEO Qichao Hu.
