April 23, 2026 3:44 PM

IBM announced an expanded collaboration with Google Cloud to help enterprise customers modernize their systems and deploy artificial intelligence across multiple cloud environments.

The partnership makes several IBM and partner technologies available through Google Cloud Marketplace, including IBM watsonx.data for managing real-time and unstructured data, and Red Hat OpenShift container platform with direct access through Google Cloud Console.

HashiCorp's Terraform Enterprise, Vault, and Consul tools are now available on the marketplace to help automate and secure cloud services. Confluent Cloud's managed Apache Kafka service is also accessible through the platform for real-time data processing.

The companies plan to integrate Google's Gemini AI models with IBM's software portfolio and work on native integration of HashiCorp Terraform within Google Cloud Infrastructure Manager for automated infrastructure management.

Additional IBM products and services will be designed specifically for Google Cloud and made available through the marketplace, allowing customers to use committed cloud spending on these offerings.

The collaboration includes Red Hat Lightspeed Agent for Google Cloud, which extends developer productivity tools across different environments. Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization is now available with unified billing for customers using both virtual machines and containers.

The partnership addresses enterprise demand for hybrid cloud flexibility and AI operationalization across multiple cloud providers without added complexity, according to the companies' joint statement.
