Woodward, AFI KLM E&M sign licensing pact for LEAP engine services
Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance has signed an Elite Licensed Repair Service Facility Agreement with Woodward to support CFM International LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines, according to a company statement.
Under the agreement, AFI KLM E&M is authorized to provide maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for Woodward components across the CFM LEAP engine family. The services cover fuel controls, actuators, pumps, and valves.
The partnership allows AFI KLM E&M to offer certified repair capabilities for fuel system components to airline operators. AFI KLM E&M currently supports approximately 3,000 aircraft operated by 200 airlines with its workforce of over 13,000 employees.
"This agreement marks an important milestone in expanding our LEAP engine support capabilities and further strengthening our collaboration with Woodward," said Anne Brachet, Executive Vice President Air France-KLM E&M. "As the LEAP fleet continues to grow, our priority is to provide our customers with reliable, high-performance MRO solutions that ensure operational continuity and cost efficiency."
John DiSilvestro, Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Service at Woodward, said the agreement "reflects the start of a new chapter in our relationship with AFI KLM E&M, and we are honored to add such a reputable provider of services to the Woodward Elite LRSF network."
Woodward is headquartered in Fort Collins, Colorado, and designs energy conversion and control solutions for aerospace and industrial equipment markets. AFI KLM E&M is a maintenance, repair, and overhaul provider based in Paris and Amsterdam.
LEAP engines are manufactured by CFM International, a joint venture between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines.
