FireFox Gold reports progress on Finland joint venture with Agnico Eagle
FireFox Gold Corp. (TSXV: FFOX) (OTCQB: FFOXF) reported exploration progress at its Kolho Property in northern Finland, where partner Agnico Eagle Mines Limited (TSX: AEM) (NYSE: AEM) spent $1.842 million during 2025 under their joint venture agreement.
Total expenditures on the project have reached approximately $2.936 million since the earn-in agreement was signed in December 2023. Agnico Eagle completed base-of-till sampling from January through August 2025, collecting 2,778 samples across most of the Hilla exploration permit.
The company conducted two drilling programs, completing 2,383 meters of diamond drilling in twelve holes at Nuttio and Hilla during fall 2025, followed by an additional 1,398 meters in the first quarter of 2026. The 2026 drilling program began March 5 at the Rova exploration permit with two holes totaling 464 meters, before moving to Hilla for three additional holes covering 934 meters.
"Agnico has established itself as the premier gold explorer and miner in the region, and we are pleased to continue our partnership at Kolho," said FireFox CEO Carl Lofberg.
The Kolho Property spans over 120 square kilometers and consists of three exploration permit applications and three exploration permits located northeast of Rupert Resources Ltd.'s Ikkari discovery and FireFox's Sarvi property.
Under the earn-in agreement, Agnico Eagle can earn a 51% interest in the Kolho Property by spending $5 million in exploration expenditures before the fifth anniversary of the agreement, with $2 million required within the first three years of permit granting.
