UFP Industries names Patrick Benton to new operations role
UFP Industries (NASDAQ: UFPI) announced executive changes effective July 1, creating a new position of Executive Vice President of Operations Integration to be filled by current UFP Construction President Patrick Benton.
The new role is designed to maximize value from newly acquired businesses and strengthen performance across existing operations as the company accelerates its acquisition strategy, according to President and CEO Will Schwartz.
Benton has worked at UFP Industries for 33 years, starting as a production trainee in Saginaw, Texas in 1993. He progressed through various roles including Vice President of Operations in South Texas in 2008, Executive Vice President of UFP Eastern Division-North in 2014, and president of the Northern Division in 2017. He became president of UFP Construction in 2019.
"Patrick has a proven track record of maximizing operations, driving efficiencies, and leading complex integrations, all while building a strong culture," Schwartz stated in the press release.
Mike Ellerbrook, current UFP Site Built Executive Vice President, will succeed Benton as President of UFP Construction. Ellerbrook joined UFP Industries before his 19th birthday at the company's Belchertown location and advanced through sales and operations roles. He was named Vice President of the Northeast Region in 2014 and Executive Vice President of UFP Site Built in 2020.
In his current role, Ellerbrook has introduced alternative materials such as steel and aluminum to the business unit's wood component operations and oversaw the launch of Frame Forward Systems, Site Built's prefabricated wood brand.
The leadership changes come as UFP Industries pursues strategic acquisitions positioned for growth and stronger long-term returns, according to the company statement.
