CrowdStrike extends cloud detection capabilities to Google Cloud

April 22, 2026 8:06 AM

CrowdStrike (NASDAQ: CRWD) announced the expansion of its Cloud Detection and Response capabilities to Google Cloud, according to a company press release. The cybersecurity firm also extended its Falcon platform to regional Google Cloud infrastructure to support data sovereignty requirements.

The company's Cloud Detection and Response technology analyzes cloud activity in real-time using event streaming technology. CrowdStrike states its system can detect and respond to cloud attacks within seconds, compared to traditional systems that may take 15 minutes or more to surface a single detection.

"Every second counts when adversaries can move from access to exfiltration in minutes," said Daniel Bernard, chief business officer at CrowdStrike. "Extending CrowdStrike CDR to one of the world's largest cloud platforms gives more organizations the speed and precision to stop cloud attacks the moment they begin."

The expansion enables organizations to process and correlate data within regional environments to comply with sovereignty requirements while maintaining global protection capabilities. The technology uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to correlate cloud adversary activity with cloud asset and identity context.

"Google Cloud is committed to an open security ecosystem, enabling greater choice and flexibility for our customers," said Vineet Bhan, director of security and identity partnerships at Google Cloud. "By expanding our collaboration with CrowdStrike, customers have access to the best solutions for their unique needs."

CrowdStrike's Cloud Detection and Response is part of the company's Falcon Cloud Security unified platform. The announcement was made at Google Cloud Next 2026 conference.

The press release notes that results are based on detection and response workflows in Amazon Web Services environments, and performance may vary based on customer configuration and cloud platform.
